On track for an engineering career
EQI alumna Valeriia credits her physics teacher at Kelvin Grove State College (SC) for the inspiration to pursue a career in engineering.
By studying electrical and biomedical engineering at The University of Queensland, Valeria is well on the way to making her dream a reality.
When she came to study in Australia at the age of 16, Valeriia studied the High School Preparation (HSP) program at Mitchelton State High School to enable her to study Years 11 and 12 at Kelvin Grove SC.
'I believe it was the best two years of my life because I could meet a lot of people and a lot of teachers and for me it was unbelievable experience.'
Valeriia graduated from Kelvin Grove SC with an OP 1*, the highest grade that can be awarded by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority.
*The Overall Position (OP) is Queensland's tertiary ranking system and is used to determine eligibility for admission to tertiary courses.
