- If you are starting Prep or Year 1 in Queensland, there are no minimum requirements for academics.
- If you are starting in Years 2 to 6 in Queensland, you must have passed your main school subjects for the past two years.

Application and start dates
Different application cut-off dates apply, depending on when you want to start studying in Queensland. You must apply before these cut-off dates for your application to be considered. Check the cut-off dates in
EQI application cut-off dates by country.
Different school start dates also apply:
- For Prep to Year 5: Start at the beginning of any school term (January, April, July, and October)
- For Year 6: Start at the beginning of terms 1 or 2 (January or April). Students may have to get special permission from the school to start in terms 3 or 4, because that is when important exams are held.
