The Department of Education International (DEi) doesn't only offer opportunities for international students, we offer them for schools offshore and educators too.

For schools

Queensland's curriculum offshore delivery

DEi plays a big role in supporting the delivery of Queensland's senior curriculum, the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), in our Queensland recognised schools.

Schools delivering the QCE program can access:

  • internationally recognised teaching and learning programs
  • support from EQI
  • support from the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA).

Offshore delivery is monitored by us and requires recognised schools to enter into a commercial agreement with DEi to deliver the QCE program.

Who can become a Queensland recognised school

Any school outside of Australia can apply to become a Queensland recognised school.

How applicants are reviewed

DEi will use the information provided by the prospective school in a 2-stage application process to undertake due diligence and will assess aspects such as the prospective school's:

  • financial viability
  • reputation in the marketplace
  • campus facilities
  • legal capacity to enter into an agreement
  • capacity to successfully deliver the program.
