Homestay families come in all shapes and sizes and living with an Australian family is one of the best ways to experience the Australian way of life close to your school.
By living in a safe and supportive home environment, you get to concentrate on your studies, practise your English skills and develop lifelong friendships with your homestay family.
What will I get in a homestay?
In our homestay, you will get:
- A clean, safe and friendly home where you can experience the Queensland way of life and practise your English conversation skills.
- A private bedroom with a desk and suitable storage space for your clothes, personal belongings and study materials.
- 3 nutritious meals per day.
- Help accessing transport to and from school and for school-related activities.
What is it like in a homestay?
You will be treated like family and your hosts will look after your cultural and dietary needs. Your host family will make sure you feel happy and that you have everything you need to do well at school.
How is my host family chosen?
Every school has a homestay coordinator. The homestay coordinator chooses the homestay families very carefully. They will match you with a family that shares the same interests as you and that will be able to take care of your needs.
Who can I talk to if I have questions?
If you are worried about settling in, or having trouble settling in with your host family, the homestay coordinator is there to help you. You can talk to them about all your homestay questions and concerns.
