Get ready to feel welcome from the moment your plane lands. When you arrive at your destination Queensland airport, someone representing your host school will meet you and drive you to your homestay accommodation or school.
Preparing for airport pickup
Please provide your arrival details and the flight itinerary to your host school early and they will arrange your airport pickup. The
student flight arrival details form (PDF, 334KB) will be provided to you after you receive confirmation of enrolment.
During school holidays, send your flight arrival details to
EQInternational@qed.qld.gov.au to make sure your request is actioned.
Airport pickup is available between 6am and 9pm and is included in the homestay placement
fees.
You cannot travel alone to your homestay or ask for other services after 9pm and before 6am, so it’s important to book a flight that arrives at your destination airport during our airport pickup times.
If there are no other alternative arrangements available and an after-hours pickup (between 9pm and 6am) is the only option, please contact
EQInternational@qed.qld.gov.au. The additional fees associated with after-hours pickups will be passed on to the applicant who will be required to cover all costs (including chaperoned transport arrangements and overnight accommodation).

When travelling to Queensland, make sure you give yourself enough time to collect luggage and transfer from one airport to another. Check

Brisbane airport transfers
Don't forget, if you are arriving at the Brisbane International Airport (BNE) and need a transfer to the Brisbane domestic terminal, EQI can assist you with this.
This service is only available from 6am until early afternoon so you will arrive at your final destination before 9pm.
Changes to your flights
Sometimes the unexpected happens, so if your flight arrival times change or you have missed a flight connection and it is outside of school hours, please call our free student support hotline on 1800 QSTUDY (1800 778 839).

Living with a parent or relative
If you are planning to live with a parent or a Department of Home Affairs approved relative, your family should contact your host school directly to request assistance.
