Welcome! Nerang State High School is a nurturing and internationally minded community, nestled in Queensland's beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. For nearly 40 years, Nerang State High School has built a reputation for excellence in academics, culture and sport.

We offer a flexible curriculum that caters every pathway from university preparation to vocational training ensuring students graduate confident, capable and future ready. Beyond academics, our students thrive in dynamic ​extracurricular experiences, enjoying music, performance, sport, and unique outdoor adventures that make the most of our world-class location.

Nerang State High School is located in the Gold Coast Hinterland and is only a short drive to the beach.

Being centrally located means we have something for everyone. Students can enjoy a range of activities, including hiking in the Gold Coast’s national parks, surfing at our famous beaches, mountain bike riding in Nerang State Forest or fishing at Hinze Dam.

Nerang State High School is part of a friendly community and we are excited about welcoming new students from many different nations to join our school.

Homestay and accommodation

By living with an Australian host family international students become part of the local community and have a fantastic opportunity to practise their English in a safe and caring home environment.

Students have their own bedroom with study facilities, three meals a day, and access to transport to and from school, and to school activities.

Holiday adventure programs are an exciting and safe way for students to travel and sightsee during school holidays.
