Principal's welcome

​​​I am very proud of the achievements of our students over a wide range of academic, cultural and sporting pursuits. Our school has been serving the Nerang community for over 30 years and has developed a reputation for providing high quality education for secondary students. 

The school provides a well-balanced curriculum to cater for students wishing to pursue university courses, as well as those looking to take up an apprenticeship or join the workforce upon leaving school. Nerang High provides students with every opportunity to have a well-rounded education that prepares them to have the confidence and knowledge to succeed as young adults.  

I am confident that we can meet the educational needs of your teenager, and look forward to you choosing us as a preferred partner in giving your child the best possible future.

Nerang State High School is located in the Gold Coast Hinterland and is only a short drive to the beach.

Being centrally located means we have something for everyone. Students can enjoy a range of activities, including hiking in the Gold Coast’s national parks, surfing at our famous beaches, mountain bike riding in Nerang State Forest or fishing at Hinze Dam.

Nerang State High School is part of a friendly community and we are excited about welcoming new students from many different nations to join our school.

Homestay and accommodation

By living with an Australian host family international students become part of the local community and have a fantastic opportunity to practise their English in a safe and caring home environment.

Students have their own bedroom with study facilities, three meals a day, and access to transport to and from school, and to school activities.

Holiday adventure programs are an exciting and safe way for students to travel and sightsee during school holidays.
