Our space technologies subject gives our year ten’s an introduction to drones, and in years eleven and twelve, students will study a certificate three in remote pilot licence. 
Nerang State High School also offers weekly mountain bike training, and students can opt to complete in the school’s mountain bike challenge, which is a national mountain bike race out in Narang National Park. Students from as far as Tasmania and Western Australia travel to compete.
Other extra-curricular groups include our National Drum-Line team, our funk band, Nerang State High School dance troupe, and drama festival teams. Each of these groups are made up of students who demonstrate outstanding talent in their field.
Our state-of-the-art facilities include a brand-new trade centre where students can gain certificates in furnishing and manufacturing. 
Students at our school also have access to fully upgraded kitchens and a newly equipped gymnasium.
