Urangan State High School

Three reasons to choose us

  1. Safe, supportive environment
  2. Flexibility in subject selection
  3. Coastal location and temperate climate

Principal's welcome

Our school is a friendly, happy and busy place where our focus is on developing individual and collective excellence—building an inclusive, dynamic and cohesive community.

We are proud to serve the Urangan and wider Hervey Bay community through our just cause: to empower a community of curious learners, creative thinkers and connected humans. This cause drives our work—alongside students—to create a safe and supportive culture where everyone belongs and finds purpose. Grounded in strong local partnerships, and inspired by our idyllic coastal setting, we are also globally connected through the values of curiosity and creativity that shape the skills needed for success in an interconnected world.

At Urangan State High School, we help students discover their best selves through high-quality academic, cultural and social experiences that open up new ideas, new ways and new possibilities. In doing so, we support every student to prepare for what comes next—whether that be further study, work or personal growth.

As principal, my focus is on supporting our staff and community to deliver this promise for every learner. I believe digital literacy, critical literacy and citizenship are the bedrocks of a successful 21st-century education. By ensuring the right structures, spaces and partnerships, we nurture well-rounded, capable and confident young people ready to contribute locally and globally.

We warmly invite you to join our community of curious learners, creative thinkers and connected humans, and to strengthen our local and global connections alongside us.
