Our school has a strong vision of 'educating the whole person within a supportive local school community'.
The school has a history of consistently high Academic Achievement, Musical Composition, Performance, Visual Arts, Leadership and Personal Development, Mandarin Chinese, Physical Outdoor and Sporting Programs.
Our staff develop and implement unique curriculum programs that profile our student abilities and parental aspirations. These programs complement and enhance traditional subjects providing acceleration, extension and enhancement. Our sports hall is one of the largest indoor school sporting facilities providing 2400 square metres of court playing area, modern facilities, storerooms, mezzanine level for weights, cardio rooms and large spectator area. Most nights and weekends you will find the sports hall filled with students and members of the community playing volleyball and basketball.

The Gap State High School’s focus is "educating the whole person in a supportive local school community". The school boasts a strong tradition of academic, cultural, citizenship and sporting excellence. Located at the foothills of beautiful Mt Coot-tha, the school is just 15 minutes by bus from Brisbane’s central business district.
There are modern facilities and a unique leadership training centre, with 24 adventure challenge activities, an impressive performing arts centre and extensive computing facilities. A new multimillion dollar indoor sports centre has just been opened. English as an Additional Language/Dialect students can extend their English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills with lessons conducted by qualified Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) teachers.
Homestay* enables EQI students to truly experience Australia's famous lifestyle.
By living with an Australian host family international students become part of the local community and have a fantastic opportunity to practise their English in a safe and caring home environment. International students often develop lasting friendships with their homestay families.

EQI Holiday Adventure Programs are an exciting and safe way for International Students to travel and sightsee during school holidays.
There's an EQI adventure to suit every taste - from visiting city landmarks and riding camels on an unforgettable Australian 'outback' adventure, to exploring ancient rainforests and swimming with turtles off Queensland's pristine white sand beaches.
All EQI Holiday Adventures are fully guided and escorted by qualified Queensland Government teachers and staff to ensure student safety. These programs are open to international students enrolled in an EQI high school, and additional fees apply. To find out more visit the holiday programs page
