We take great pleasure in welcoming international students to Meridan State College (SC), the proud recipient of the Queensland School of the Year Award at the Excellence in Education Awards, 2015.
Meridan SC consists of three sub schools that provide a structured, quality education and seamless transition through the different phases of our students’ learning. Our curriculum mission is to empower students with the confidence and capacity to enrich the communities and cultures of the future. Excellence in the teaching of literacy and numeracy is a major focus, and the College has introduced Master Classes for high achieving students and Programs of Excellence for those with an aptitude for dance, music, Italian and sport.
Ensuring our students are skilled and prepared for the future is key to our teaching programs, and student learning is enriched through the use of an extensive range of electronic devices.
While Meridan is very much a school of the future, we place great importance on 'old fashioned' values, such as good manners, considerate behaviour and pride in our College and ourselves. We have an unrelenting focus on high expectations and supporting students to achieve their potential in a safe and happy environment as they transition through the years of schooling from Prep to Year 12.
Meridan’s dedicated teaching staff and experienced international team look forward to supporting and guiding you to ensure your time at Meridan State College is filled with success and happy memories.

We pride ourselves on providing a quality education for all our students from Prep to Year 12. Our students are grouped into three sub-schools – primary, junior secondary and senior secondary students – and we are proud to be a recipient of the Queensland School of the Year Award.
We take great pleasure in welcoming international students and offering them all a catered, personalised program with a dedicated support structure in place.
We offer a varied curriculum presented in exciting and meaningful ways using real-life experiences, contemporary resources and technology.
We are located at the southern end of the Sunshine Coast just over a one-hour drive to Brisbane and only 3.6 km to some of the most beautiful beaches and surf on the Sunshine Coast.
Homestay* enables EQI students to truly experience Australia's famous lifestyle.
By living with an Australian host family international students become part of the local community and have a fantastic opportunity to practise their English in a safe and caring home environment. International students often develop lasting friendships with their homestay families.
Standard Homestay fees have been set and these are listed on the EQI program fees page.

EQI holiday adventure programs are an exciting and safe way for international students to travel and sightsee during school holidays.
There's an adventure to suit every taste - from visiting city landmarks and riding camels on an unforgettable Australian outback adventure, to exploring ancient rainforests and swimming with turtles off Queensland's pristine white sand beaches.
All holiday adventures are fully guided and escorted by qualified Queensland Government teachers and staff to ensure student safety. These programs are open to international students enrolled in an EQI high school and additional fees apply. Find out more about our holiday adventure programs.
