As Principal of Maroochydore State High, I extend a warm welcome to all international students and your families.
Maroochydore High offers specialised programs in a wide range of curriculum areas. Some of the speciality subjects are Biotechnology and Marine Science, Chef training in Hospitality and Tourism, Japanese and a number of sports including Cricket, Surfing and Rugby League.
Our school is well resourced, with our greatest resource being our teachers. The staff of Maroochydore High are experienced, highly qualified and dedicated to improving your learning.
Our staff are very friendly and we work closely with you and your host families to provide a safe learning environment.
The local community supports our school and is involved in many activities.
Another advantage to enjoy is that our school is centrally located on the Sunshine Coast. We are close to major swimming and surfing beaches, shopping centres, the University and the Maroochydore Airport.
Maroochydore State High School is centrally located less than 3km from beautiful Maroochydore beach and the new Central Business District (CBD). Our school is vibrant and dynamic and offers innovative, interesting and modern curriculum where students achieve excellent outcomes.
We offer a wide variety of subjects that take advantage of our location and school facilities, including marine science, aquatic practices, aerospace engineering, surfing and commercial cookery.
International students have the option to visit destinations like Lady Elliot Island on the Great Barrier Reef, World Heritage listed Fraser Island, and feed dolphins at Tangalooma and Australia Zoo.
Experience our wonderful vibrant culture as you explore, make new friends and meet people from different countries.
Homestay* enables EQI students to truly experience Australia's famous lifestyle.
By living with an Australian host family international students become part of the local community and have a fantastic opportunity to practise their English in a safe and caring home environment. International students often develop lasting friendships with their homestay families.
Standard Homestay fees have been set and these are listed on the EQI program fees page.

EQI holiday adventure programs are an exciting and safe way for international students to travel and sightsee during school holidays.
There's an adventure to suit every taste - from visiting city landmarks and riding camels on an unforgettable Australian outback adventure, to exploring ancient rainforests and swimming with turtles off Queensland's pristine white sand beaches.
All holiday adventures are fully guided and escorted by qualified Queensland Government teachers and staff to ensure student safety. These programs are open to international students enrolled in an EQI high school and additional fees apply. Find out more about our holiday adventure programs.
