​Welcome to Ferny Grove State High School. Our school is a vibrant and exciting place where our students are encouraged to Always Aim High. Ferny Grove State High School has welcomed students through the Education Queensland International Student Program since 2008 and we have a long history of successfully hosting visits for exchange students from around the world. We strive to provide an educational experience of an extremely high standard.

Ferny Grove State High School provides a caring and supportive environment with many quality

We offer a wide range of different academic, cultural, sporting and citizenship study areas, so you can

find something interesting to you, and we will help you to prepare for further study or employment.

You can choose from a large number of extracurricular activities, including our academic excellence

program, equestrian program, and ‘Mad Scientists’ club.

We are just 12 kilometres from the centre of Brisbane city, and convenient to a train station.

Located in beautiful bushland, our school is close to walking tracks and bicycle paths, and Samford and

Bunyaville nature conservation parks are also nearby.​

Homestay* enables EQI students to truly experience Australia's famous lifestyle.

By living with an Australian host family international students become part of the local community and have a fantastic opportunity to practise their English in a safe and caring home environment. International students often develop lasting friendships with their homestay families.

  • Students have their own bedroom with study facilities, three meals a day, and access to transport to and from school, and to school activities
  • Host families are carefully selected from within the school community and undergo a police check as required by Queensland law

EQI Holiday Adventure Programs are an exciting and safe way for International Students to travel and sightsee during school holidays.

There's an EQI adventure to suit every taste - from visiting city landmarks and riding camels on an unforgettable Australian 'outback' adventure, to exploring ancient rainforests and swimming with turtles off Queensland's pristine white sand beaches.
