​​​​​​Welcome to Ferny Grove State High School. Our school is a vibrant and exciting place where our students are encouraged to Always Aim High. We offer students an opportunity to engage in a wide range of extra and co-curricular activities which will provide life balance and add to their personal development as global citizens.

Ferny Grove State High School has welcomed students through the Education Queensland International Student Program since 2008 and we have a long history of successfully hosting visits for exchange students from around the world. We strive to provide an educational experience of an extremely high standard.

Ferny Grove is an independent public school that has developed a strong reputation for the provision of high-quality educational opportunities across academic, sporting, cultural and citizenship areas. Our vision, at Ferny Grove, is for every individual discovering their passion on their pathway of learning. Set in beautiful bushland just 12 kilometres from the centre of Brisbane, the school is recognised for its strong traditional values, which are embedded in a caring and supportive environment. Our school is large enough to offer significant diversity and something for everyone, while ensuring that every student is valued as an individual who is encouraged and supported to ‘Always Aim High’.

Homestay and accommodation

By living with an Australian host family international students become part of the local community and have a fantastic opportunity to practise their English in a safe and caring home environment.

Students have their own bedroom with study facilities, three meals a day, and access to transport to and from school, and to school activities.
