Welcome to Ferny Grove State High School. Our school is a vibrant and exciting place where our students are encouraged to Always Aim High. We have an excellent reputation for outstanding achievements across academic, cultural, sporting and citizenship areas. Our school is founded on strong values – respect, learning, community and creativity. These values form the basis for strong relationships with each other, the way we learn, work and achieve success in a dynamic learning environment.
We offer students an opportunity to engage in a wide range of extra and co-curricular activities which will provide life balance and add to their personal development as global citizens.
Ferny Grove State High School has welcomed students through the Education Queensland International Student Program since 2008 and we have a long history of successfully hosting visits for exchange students from around the world. We strive to provide an educational experience of an extremely high standard.
Ferny Grove is an independent public school that has developed a strong reputation for the provision of high-quality educational opportunities across academic, sporting, cultural and citizenship areas. Our vision is for all of our students to reach their true potential, achieving their individual goals and making a positive contribution to their communities.
Set in beautiful bushland just 12 kilometres from the centre of Brisbane, the school is recognised for its strong traditional values, which are embedded in a caring and supportive environment. Our school is large enough to offer significant diversity and something for everyone, while ensuring that every student is valued as an individual who is encouraged and supported to ‘Always Aim High’.
Homestay* enables EQI students to truly experience Australia's famous lifestyle.
By living with an Australian host family international students become part of the local community and have a fantastic opportunity to practise their English in a safe and caring home environment. International students often develop lasting friendships with their homestay families.
Standard Homestay fees have been set and these are listed on the EQI program fees page.

* Students enrolled in Primary School must live with a parent or close relative as defined by the Australian Immigration Regulations.
EQI holiday adventure programs are an exciting and safe way for international students to travel and sightsee during school holidays.
There's an adventure to suit every taste - from visiting city landmarks and riding camels on an unforgettable Australian outback adventure, to exploring ancient rainforests and swimming with turtles off Queensland's pristine white sand beaches.
All holiday adventures are fully guided and escorted by qualified Queensland Government teachers and staff to ensure student safety. These programs are open to international students enrolled in an EQI high school and additional fees apply. Find out more about our holiday adventure programs.
