We are delighted to welcome international students to Caloundra State High School, located on the stunning Sunshine Coast of Queensland.

Caloundra State High School offers a broad range of high-quality academic and vocational subjects, designed to prepare students for their future pathways. Located just moments from beautiful, pristine beaches and only minutes from the iconic Glasshouse Mountains and scenic hinterland, the school complements its outstanding educational program with an extensive selection of extra-curricular activities for students to enjoy.

Our mission is to empower students with the confidence and capacity to enrich both the local and global community and culture. Excellence and inclusive practices within the curriculum are a major focus, and the school offers a number of Programs of Excellence and extension classes for high-achieving students with an aptitude for academic study, the arts and sport.

Caloundra's experienced international team and dedicated teaching staff provide our international students with a personalised program of instruction and experiences. Caloundra SHS strives to cater to each student's individual needs, offering support and guidance to ensure their time at Caloundra State High School is filled with success and happy memories.

We also provide our international students with English as a Second Language (ESL) lessons (as required) to support their language development, as well as a range of additional extra-curricular 'Aussie experiences', both locally and across the country, to help build their confidence and cultural awareness.

Through strong partnerships between students, staff, parents, industry, and the broader community, Caloundra SHS fosters a deep and authentic sense of belonging and connectedness. Caloundra is where the Sunshine Coast begins! We are located a short 1hr train ride from Brisbane CBD. Experience uncrowded beaches with views of the heritage-listed Glass House Mountains, the sparkling waters of the Pumicestone passage, exquisite cafes and restaurants and a breathtaking coastal headland with hidden coves and sandy beaches.

You can see the ocean from our school and access adjacent natural bushland.

We have a targeted curriculum for each of our junior, middle and senior secondary schools.

Our broad curriculum has options to suit your interests, and we provide direct pathways to employment, training or further education after Year 12.

Our extracurricular activities are extensive exposing our students to a range of experiences tailored to their individual needs.

We value diversity and, through our international student program, all of our students have opportunities to expand their horizons, meet new people and experience everything the beautiful Sunshine Coast has to offer.

Homestay and accommodation

By living with an Australian host family international students become part of the local community and have a fantastic opportunity to practise their English in a safe and caring home environment.

Students have their own bedroom with study facilities, three meals a day, and access to transport to and from school, and to school activities.
