A warm welcome is extended to you and your family from the Burpengary State School community. Our school has had a tradition of academic excellence since 1876. We work hard to ensure that we are the school of first choice for our local community. We have been an accredited International school for overseas students studying in Australia for over eight years.
At Burpengary, we work together to ensure a safe and productive learning environment. Our student-centred learning approach supports all students to excel and achieve to their full potential. Our school hosts an on-site English as a Second Language/Dialect program where trained educators support students in their learning of English. We have a range of extra-curricular activities in the areas of the Arts, sport and technology.
Burpengary State School values diversity and a global education for all children. I look forward to partnering with you over the coming years to enhance the learning for your child.
Welcome to Burpengary State School.
Established in 1876, we have a long history of high academic performance, sporting achievement, rich cultural experiences, and award-winning bands and choirs.
Our large co-educational primary school has more than 950 students, and we focus on success for all our students through our five building blocks for success (excellence, respect, resilience, integrity and cooperation).
We have a clear community vision to inspire you and we create many opportunities for quality learning so that you can help to shape the future.
We are proud of our welcoming and safe school environment, and our exciting program of continuous school improvement.
Homestay* enables EQI students to truly experience Australia's famous lifestyle.
By living with an Australian host family international students become part of the local community and have a fantastic opportunity to practise their English in a safe and caring home environment. International students often develop lasting friendships with their homestay families.
Standard Homestay fees have been set and these are listed on the EQI program fees page.

* Students enrolled in Primary School must live with a parent or close relative as defined by the Australian Immigration Regulations.
EQI holiday adventure programs are an exciting and safe way for international students to travel and sightsee during school holidays.
There's an adventure to suit every taste - from visiting city landmarks and riding camels on an unforgettable Australian outback adventure, to exploring ancient rainforests and swimming with turtles off Queensland's pristine white sand beaches.
All holiday adventures are fully guided and escorted by qualified Queensland Government teachers and staff to ensure student safety. These programs are open to international students enrolled in an EQI high school and additional fees apply. Find out more about our holiday adventure programs.
