Principal's welcome

​​​​​​​I am delighted to welcome you to Alexandra Hills State High School where your son or daughter will be challenged and nurtured on their way to adulthood.

Our up to date academic programs include the full range of subjects offered in Queensland with a particular focus on coding, robotics and automation. Extra lessons in English language and opportunities for excursions are important inclusions in the program of study and we carefully monitor all aspects of students’ school life to ensure that they get the best out of their time with us. We also ensure that students, who have their own special lounge where they can relax, always feel supported.

Our highly committed team of teachers and our experienced homestay families, who provide safe and comfortable homes, ensure that the experience of our students academically, culturally and personally makes their time at our school both happy and fulfilling.

Alexandra Hills State High School is in a coastal suburb, close to seaside parks and walking trails through nature, with koalas on our school grounds and platypus habitat close by.

You can participate in extracurricular activities such as public speaking, sport, dance and music, and we offer more than 40 elective subjects as well as advanced programs including robotics.

We have excellent facilities, technology and equipment, providing you with a quality education.

Our experienced, highly qualified teachers support you individually to help you to achieve your best.

If you are interested in a career in robotics and technology, you can benefit from industry work experience and other programs through our membership of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) Gateway to Schools program.

Homestay and accommodation

By living with an Australian host family international students become part of the local community and have a fantastic opportunity to practise their English in a safe and caring home environment.

Students have their own bedroom with study facilities, three meals a day, and access to transport to and from school, and to school activities.

Holiday adventure programs are an exciting and safe way for students to travel and sightsee during school holidays.
