It is my pleasure to welcome you to Sarina State High School, a vibrant secondary school.

Located in Sarina, our school offers quality educational opportunities alongside a relaxed coastal lifestyle. Students benefit from a safe and supportive community with access to the natural beauty of the surrounding region.

We are proud of our facilities, including extensive grounds, sports facilities and a pool. Our agricultural facility provides hands-on learning experiences, while our Trade Training Centre, specialising in engineering fabrication, equips students with practical skills for future pathways. We also offer a range of academic and vocational subjects.

As an international student, you will find many opportunities to engage in school life, develop English language skills, and build lasting friendships. Outside of school you will have the opportunity to explore the region, surrounded by natural beauty from coral reefs and islands to rainforests and national parks. We are committed to supporting you and ensuring you feel welcomed, challenged and inspired.

​​At Sarina State High School, we offer a wide range of subjects that prepare students for tertiary and vocational pathways. Students can choose courses that include academic subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Specialist Mathematics, Mathematical Methods and English. Alternatively, there are a large number of vocational subjects in the area of fitness, business and tourism, agriculture, engineering pathways, early childcare and health support services. Year 11 students can study a university subject while at our school through Start Uni Now (SUN) at Central Queensland University (CQU) or JCUNOW with James Cook University (JCU). With so many subject choices and programs on offer, our aim is to prepare you for any career.

Our school is located in the tropical Queensland coastal town of Sarina, which is a blend of natural country charm whilst offering a variety of local businesses. Sarina offers friendly hospitality, beautiful beaches, prime fishing and scenic landscapes all in close proximity to the town centre.

Homestay and accommodation

By living with an Australian host family international students become part of the local community and have a fantastic opportunity to practise their English in a safe and caring home environment.

Students have their own bedroom with study facilities, three meals a day, and access to transport to and from school, and to school activities.
