Principal's welcome

Welcome to Mountain Creek State High School.

We're excited to welcome you to our vibrant school community on Queensland's beautiful Sunshine Coast. Located just minutes from both Mooloolaba and Alexandra Headlands beaches, our campus offers the perfect balance of academic excellence and coastal lifestyle.

Mountain Creek State High School is one of the largest and most respected schools in the region, with over 2,200 students and a proud history of innovation. Established in 1995, we are a modern, independent public school offering world-class facilities and a dynamic learning environment.

Our experienced International Team provides one-to-one English as a second language support, personalised pastoral care with our homestay coordinator, and subject selection guidance from our head of international studies.

We closely monitor our students' academic achievement, attendance and personal wellbeing in a safe, secure and supportive environment.

In an increasingly globalised community, we believe it's important for students to develop an understanding of other cultures through our International Student Program. Therefore, international students are encouraged to participate in our Ambassador program and international club which promote leadership, cultural exchange and community engagement. Social sporting opportunities are also available, helping students build friendships and stay active while enjoying the Sunshine Coast lifestyle.

To help you settle in, we provide a fun and engaging orientation experience, including a surf awareness course at Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club, beach games, shopping, and dinner with your host family. All homestay families live within 5 kilometres of the school, offering a safe and welcoming home environment.

Outside the classroom, students enjoy exceptional extracurricular opportunities such as music ensembles, drama productions, marine excursions to Lady Elliot Island, and trips to Fraser Island, Tangalooma, and Australia Zoo.

We look forward to welcoming you to Mountain Creek State High School—where learning meets lifestyle.
