Principal's welcome

Welcome to Indooroopilly State High School. The whole school community is excited that you have chosen to study, learn, and grow with us.

Indooroopilly's core values are each person's dignity, our community's diversity, open communication and quality learning. These values are part of everything we do, and we are looking forward to working with you to help you feel part of the school and the unique 'Indro' community. We know that academic success is important, and all the staff here will work hard to help you achieve your goals, alongside that is the belief that your wellbeing is important and we want you to feel supported and cared for while you are part of our community.

The traditional custodians of the land Indooroopilly State High School is on are the Turrbal and Jagera peoples of Meanjin, now known as Brisbane. I have only recently arrived in Australia, and I am grateful to be living and working here and I acknowledge the deep and ongoing connection that First Nations people have to this land, to culture and to learning. I know you will enjoy learning more about the land you are on and the Australian way of life.

Indooroopilly State High School offers excellent facilities and teaching in a supportive culture of high academic achievement.

We promote diversity and aim to develop student confidence with teaching tailored for you.

Located close to The University of Queensland (UQ), we maintain strong links with the surrounding universities, and our no school uniform policy allows a relaxed transition from school to university.

We have offered international homestays for more than 30 years and have an excellent language support program to improve your English language skills.

Our students consistently achieve high tertiary entrance scores and well above average National Assessment Program—Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) outcomes.​

Homestay and accommodation

By living with an Australian host family international students become part of the local community and have a fantastic opportunity to practise their English in a safe and caring home environment.

Students have their own bedroom with study facilities, three meals a day, and access to transport to and from school, and to school activities.
