Principal's welcome

Bribie Island State High School is a co-educational secondary school with 1,100 students, located on Bribie Island with a population of 18,000. Bribie Island is a popular tourist destination located less than one hour's drive north of Brisbane, Queensland's capital city.

Bribie Island is a 34 kilometre long sand island, national and marine park, linked to the mainland by bridge. Bribie Island boasts pristine beaches and waterways, providing many opportunities for a variety of watersports and camping adventures. The heritage listed Glasshouse Mountains and world-class beaches of the Sunshine Coast are also within an hour's drive of Bribie Island.

Bribie Island State High School is an independent public school servicing Bribie Island and surrounds. We are a progressive and socially responsible school maximising learning outcomes and preparing young people to become active citizens in a global society. Our program provides a smaller, boutique style experience. Parents choose this school because of the approach to educate the whole child, the sense of community, the high standards set by the school and the recognised safety of the area.

Homestay and accommodation

By living with an Australian host family international students become part of the local community and have a fantastic opportunity to practise their English in a safe and caring home environment.

Students have their own bedroom with study facilities, three meals a day, and access to transport to and from school, and to school activities.
