EQI's Professional Visit Program offers overseas teachers a unique opportunity to enhance their skills through a competency-based work shadowing experience in Queensland. This flexible program, ranging from 1 to 4 weeks, combines professional development workshops, mentoring, and hands-on experience in Queensland Government schools.

Participants will develop their professional knowledge and gain valuable classroom experience, making it ideal for teachers and aspiring educators looking to boost their confidence and skills. With a dedicated teacher buddy and exposure to diverse schools and teaching styles, this program is perfect for those committed to advancing their classroom management and teaching prowess. EQI also collaborates with foreign governments and education offices to develop tailored teacher training solutions.

Delivery method

The EQI Professional Visit Program is delivered on-site in Queensland over 1–4 weeks. The program encompasses face-to-face workshops, school visits, and interactive classroom activities. Participants are required to travel to designated host schools throughout Queensland, ensuring a comprehensive and immersive experience in the local education system.

Program eligibility

This program is most suitable for:

  • overseas teachers with a minimum of 1 year teaching experience
  • foreign teacher trainees who have recently completed professional training and are seeking practical experience.

This program is ideal for educators looking to expand their professional horizons and gain hands-on experience in Queensland's education system.

Important requirements

All participants must obtain a valid blue card (working with children check) before commencing the program.
