Litamele chose to study the International Baccalaureate (IB) at Cairns SHS to give her a foundation to follow her dream of working for an international organisation such as UNICEF.
“I had many reasons for moving to Cairns State High School (CSHS), however, I was unaware of the many different programs the school ran: Centre of Excellence choral music, dance, drama, visual arts, recreational and tourism studies, just to name a few, and of course the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme.
My aspiration is to one day work with an international organisation such as UNICEF, under the United Nations Organisation. I believe that the IB Diploma provides skills and courses to excel in my studies and encourages personal and academic achievement to help me pursue my dream career.
The IB will encourage me to think independently, the programmes can prepare me for some of the highest ranking universities in the world and learning a second language will help me become culturally aware. I believe all these aspects will help people like me who are motivated to succeed and pursue my dream career.”
