Classroom on the Reef

Imagine studying science on a beautiful tropical island located in a World Heritage-listed marine park. A special science program offered by Trinity Bay State High School enabled international students to do just that, giving them the chance to learn about climate change, sea level rise and their impact on the spectacular Great Barrier Reef.

The science program, run by James Cook University, is one of many special programs offered by Queensland Government high schools to prepare students for their academic, sporting or professional future.

International students can select from over 175 special programs, including aerospace, science, biology, business, creative industries, engineering, information technology, mathematics, music and sports.*

These programs offer students a deeper understanding of their favourite subjects and can help them to make a head start in further study or to choose their future career.
