Are you ready for 2 years of intense and focused learning?

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB) is an internationally recognised qualification for high achievers who are ready to commit their 2 years in Year 11 and 12 for an outstanding qualification.

The IB curriculum accelerates academic subjects while being delivered in a format that enables students to adjust more easily to university study. It aims to develop thinking, communication, self-management, teamwork and research skills. It is one of the world’s most innovative educational courses offered for 16–18 year olds and is globally recognised by universities for the holistic and rigorous education it provides.

The IB fulfils many national and state education system requirements, allowing the transfer from a Queensland IB school to any other IB school in the world.

It also works in reverse – if you are studying in an IB school in your home country, why not spend 6 months or a year here in Queensland, then return to your school for the final part and receive the full IB qualification from your home-country school.

When you complete your IB Years 11 and 12 in a Queensland IB school, you will be awarded both the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and the IB Diploma (PDF, 259KB).

Your Year 10 academic results must be very high in a range of subjects to be eligible to enrol in the IB program. In particular, secondary level English is a ‘must have’. The entry requirements are below.

The IB is only offered at selected schools.
