Transfer to an EQI school from another CRICOS provider

​​​​​​If you want to transfer to an Education Queensland International (EQI) school from another provider listed on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS), please submit an application on the form available on the EQI website. (PDF, 140KB)
This procedure outlines the process EQI undertakes when assessing applications and making decisions about whether to accept an application from a student who wants to transfer to an EQI school from another provider listed on CRICOS.


Stud​​​​​ents who have not completed at least six months of their principal course of study

The application will not be approved, unless:

  1. the original registered provider has ceased to be registered or the course in which the student is enrolled has ceased to be registered; or

  2. the original registered provider has provided a written letter of release following the issue of a written offer from EQI; or

  3. the original registered provider has had a sanction imposed on its registration by the Australian Government or state or territory government that prevents the student from continuing his or her principal course; or

  4. any government sponsor of the student considers the change to be in the student's best interest and has provided written support for that change; and

  5. EQI is satisfied that a transfer will be in the best interest of the student.


For all applicant​​​s - a transfer request will be accepted and the student will be offered a place in an EQI program where:

  1. ​​​​​​the student has completed at least six months of their principal course of study or the criteria above is satisfied; and

  2. the application for enrolment is assessed as successful, for example,

    • the application has been properly made;

    • the student meets the academic and English language requirements for their proposed course of study;

    • any other criteria for the proposed program of study is satisfied; and

  3. ​​​th​​​ere is availability in the student's preferred schools; and

  4. EQI is satisfied that the transfer is in the student's best int​​erests.
