Accommodation and welfare for EQI students

Overseas students enrolled in an EQI program ('students') can choose to live with either:

  • an EQI approved homestay provider (this option is only available to students enrolled in a high school program)

  • a parent, legal custodian or relative approved by Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP).

EQI does not allow independent living even if the student has turned 18 years of age.
If the student is harmed, at risk of harm or reports harm, EQI follows the Department of Education and Training's student protection procedure and EQI's Critical incident procedure.

The Accommodation and welfare procedure outlines roles and responsibilities of employees of EQI and employees of EQI accredited state schools and the steps they follow to:

  • monitor the accommodation and welfare arrangements in place for students enrolled at school  ('students')

  • administer the EQI homestay program.
