Accommodation and Welfare

The ESOS Legislative Framework (PDF, 475KB) requires education providers to make appropriate arrangements to protect the personal safety and social well-being of international students under the age of 18 not being cared for in Australia by a parent or suitable nominated relative.

International students enrolled in high school programs are able to choose to stay with an EQI approved homestay provider or with a parent or suitable nominated relative who has been approved by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP). International students enrolled in primary school must live with a parent or suitable nominated relative.

International students enrolled in an EQI program are required to have suitable accommodation and welfare arrangements while studying in Australia.
