Principal: Hi my nameÕs Frank Brunetto and IÕm the Principal of Smithfield State High School. Smithfield State High School forms part of the Tropical North Learning Academy; we work very closely with our partner primary school Trinity Beach State School and our wonderful university that is positioned across the road, James Cook University. Smithfield State High School we believe is the gateway to success; every student that comes into our school has a range of subjects in which they can experience which caters for their learning needs. Smithfield State High School has a wonderful set of staff and students which makes schooling complete. Smithfield State High School is positioned 20 minutes from the centre of Cairns; what you will notice is our wonderful school is surrounded by lush rainforest which is boarded by lovely white sandy beaches. I canÕt wait to see you be part of our wonderful school and I welcome you to achieve and strive to be your best. 
Student (Vanda): When I first started choosing schools in Queensland, I really wanted to be close to The Great Barrier Reef and beaches. So when I researched schools, I really liked Smithfield State High School because it was close to the beaches and had a tropical island school feeling. 
Student (Daniella): Here at Smithfield State High School we have a range of many different subjects to choose from. My favourite subject is outdoor recreation. We have a range of many different excursions such as snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, hiking and even kayaking on local freshwater rivers. 
Student (Zane): Here at Smithfield High weÕve got many new facilities all around the school. This one we are in now is the Centre of Athlete Development and Performing Arts. All of our PE classes and fitness classes come in here and use this facility every day. A lot of kids love it and get around it and there are plenty of people in the gym here right now.
Student (Dany): I love the Performing Arts subjects and weÕve now got this new amazing building weÕre weÕve got classrooms and stages to do dance, drama and music. WeÕve also got so many performance opportunities to showcase our studentÕs fantastic talents. 
Student (Robert): I love the brand-new Centre of Innovation where we do a bunch of Science and Technology subjects such as Robotics and Drones. 
Homestay (Jordi): Hi. We are an International Student homestay family and we enjoy taking our international students around Cairns and showing them what it has to offer.  
Homestay (Ash): We live close to the beach and we love coming here often.`
Student (Chloei): IÕm one of Smithfield State High SchoolÕs International Student Program leaders. I love being part of the program because I get to implement fresh new ideas and meet new people. All International students who come here are shown around and make new friends. 
Student (Conn): We have a special International Student Program room for International students to come and get supported from our program leaders and to meet new friends. 
Student (Seang): I have feel so supported being an International Student here in Smithfield. The teachers are very helpful and I feel really comfortable around them. Also, my English has improved so much since being here.
