[00:00:16] Marrimac State School is surrounded by a bush setting with neighboring international golf courses and welcomes daily interactions with the natural wildlife. The classrooms at Marrimac State School promote 21st century learning so that the student can offer a balanced curriculum. English language support is provided to students learning English as an additional language or dialect. The curriculum includes a strong emphasis on foundation skills in literacy and numeracy, thinking skills in STEM, core capabilities in ICT, health and fitness in sport and creativity and performance in the arts. Within the arts choir, band, and strings are offered to children in year three to six. Children in year two are also invited to perform in a junior choir. Japanese language is taught from prep to year six. Students are taught cultural understanding and basic written and conversational Japanese. 

[00:01:29] Merrimac has a sister school Katsuragi in Japan. Students in year 5 and 6 can elect to participate in a cultural exchange program to Katsuragi Elementary School.
