[00:00:00] Going to school in Queensland is like going to school in Paradise. Maryborough State High School is 144 years old. It prides itself of being at the cutting edge of innovation with technology, curriculum, and wellbeing initiatives. So coming to Maryborough is one of the best things I've ever done. It's just a beautiful place. For our international students I believe that Maryborough State High is a great place for them to come. We won 2025 Regional School of the Year for the whole of Australia. There's a major capital city right on our doorstep. Then 30 minutes from here, you have the beautiful Fraser Coast. Our international students can enjoy the iconic Australian experience right here from Maryborough.

[00:00:52] Oh, the Australians are super nice. I've made a lot of friends. The Aussie kids at our school enjoy interacting with the [00:01:00] international students. They are happy and they're really integrated with our community here. Because our program is uniquely smaller, if they do need the extra help with English, we have one-on-one tuition.

[00:01:14] I think I'm more confident and I can really talk with someone. It's really cool.

[00:01:21] I am a teacher at Maryborough State High School, but I'm also a home stay parent. The home stay is beautiful. I really feel like I have a family here. They learn a lot about how to look after themselves and to mature, so we just learned to prepare ourselves for being an adult. It's really amazing to watch them become their genuine selves and become really happy within our environment.

[00:01:47] I would say don't be scared. It is a very good opportunity to learn and grow. It's perfect. By the time they leave, they, they're confident. They know who they are.
