[00:00:02] Kedron High is an exceptional school where we focus on our four core values of being a traditional, academic, disciplined and diverse school. [00:00:12] Kedron state High School has been running since 1956. We have about fifteen hundred students here out of which 50 of them are international students. They come from all over the world. We like to think of the International Student Program as one big family. We look after the students academically here and we also support them in their welfare. [00:00:37] When the students first arrive I check in with the students as often as I can usually before school, after school, during breaks just to see how they are going and to make sure that they're feeling happy and confident. Often I visit new students in the classroom. I usually go to their English lesson as a first call to see how the new students are going. I also will visit students in class to help explain the teacher’s instructions. [00:01:06] When I first got here I was a bit of a difficulty trying to settle in but it didn't take me long with the help of the international student program coordinators. They help me with my English. They helped me get into the daily part of the Kedron way and also with my friends as well which didn't take me long to make cause the Kedron people are very welcoming, very friendly. [00:01:29] The homestay program here is a warm nurturing program. We carefully select homestay families and match them with our students and the students really feel like it's a home away from home. [00:01:44] I love studying at Kedron because of the students and teachers because they're really helpful and kind and the students support and respect each other and that's just perfect. [00:01:58] The international program at Kedron is a program that is mutually beneficial. The students achieve their academic and personal goals which we have proved for many years now but also the school benefits because they bring their rich culture to our school and make our community.
