COVID-19 Information and Resources

With COVID-19 continuing to affect countries worldwide, here in Queensland we are appreciating the benefits of a Government who was quick to implement strict travel and border restrictions and played a key role in keeping cases low.

Education Queensland International (EQI) continues to be optimistic that international students will soon be able to travel to Australia to participate in our unique Queensland education programs.

In preparation for our borders to reopen, EQI are accepting student applications for the 2021 school year.

The academic year in Queensland begins on 27 January, 2021. If the student's entry to Queensland is restricted due to the Australian border remaining closed, EQI would recommend deferring to a later start date.

EQI encourages families to maintain their student's current education program until the Australian borders are officially open to non-residents.

EQI is currently offering the Virtual High School Preparation program as an option for offshore enrolments. The program provides innovative lesson flexibility to encourage and motivate students while we wait for the borders to reopen. There is extra teacher and student-to-student interaction and provides an alternative to learn and practise English in their own home.
