My name is Yang and I'm from Beijing, China.
I went to Luho High School from year seven to year nine and currently I'm studying year 12 at Merrimack State High School.
I decided to study in Queensland and particularly on the Gold Coast because I thought the Gold Coast has very beautiful views and I thought it would be fun to study in such a cozy environment.
I would recommend studying at Merrimack State High School because it has a very diverse culture - we have international students from all around the world and I think the staff are friendly and the environment of the school just suits me very well.
The lessons I've learned being initiative and being independent and just curiosity in general.
When I first came here I had no idea just where to start and I think being initiative is really necessary that you know why you're here and you know where your goal is.
I'm really curious about the human physiology and anatomy so my plan is to go to university and study physical therapy or medical science.
At the beginning of this year I was really honoured to be selected as one of the mayor's student ambassador at the Gold Coast and um I've had the opportunity to meet 19 other excellent university students, as well as high school students.
We've really formed the community and we share our experiences on social media to basically promote the Gold Coast as a wonderful place to study as well as to travel.
