Cory: G’day mate, this is the Gold Coast! My name is Corey and I’m international student from Japan. To me the gold coast is safe, welcoming, interesting and fun. The Gold Coast has beautiful beaches. It's a very beautiful place. I didn't know Australians are so very kind and very nice. These are my friends Kaelyn and this is Ashton. Come on guys! I made a lot of friends when I came to Robina State High School. My favourite sport is basketball. Australian people like playing rugby, basketball, like playing golf. Being on gold coast make me feel so confident I love going to school, the teachers are very nice to me some teachers can speak Japanese a lot. Sellina: It is such a joy to work with Corey. Corey is just a little whirlwind, his face just lights up when you offer him anything he wants to experience everything. There's just so much the Gold Coast has got to offer the world-renowned beaches, the amazing hinterland. We have world-class universities here on the Gold Coast, all of the theme parks, the great shopping centres. In Cory’s case he really wants to experience the fashion stuff Cory: Sometimes I’m going shopping with my homestay sister she's Rhiannon. Is it cool? Rhiannon: Yeah, that's pretty cool? (shopping) Cory: I want to be a fashion model because I love fashion. I just want to tell everyone what fashion is like. Rhiannon: We're shopping every weekend. I think shopping it is his life because he's just so into fashion. We couldn't believe that he went and bought gold shoes to be honest, it was just really, oh gosh, but yeah, he's got style. Cory: My home stay family is like very nice I feel so safe eating dinner with my family and like talking to like my sister and brother. Cory: What is for dinner today? Rhiannon: I think it's spaghetti bolognese. Cory: Mmm, yummy! Cory: In Japan like they have it like small steak but Australia have a like very big steak so it's making me fat. Rhiannon: Cory’s hilarious, sometimes you'll just see him around the house and he'll be dancing or singing he's so funny and he loves just doing everything. Cory: The Gold Coast has a lot of amazing animals. I saw kangaroos it's so cool I met Koalas today and I just got hugs, oh my god, that's so cool it's like my baby. Rhiannon: It's just nice to see that reaction of someone when they haven't experienced something before but when you see him experience it for the first time it's so exciting. Sellina: We're sharing the lives of these students, influencing these kids to be global citizens in the future, and we're doing it through sharing the love of the Gold Coast and let's face it it's an amazing place to live. Cory: When I go back to Japan I take memories for like beautiful beach and my beautiful [homestay] family, and my friends and I’m going to tell everyone, come to Australia, Gold Coast.
