Hi! I'm Samantha from Chile
and I'm inviting all international students to come here to Queensland.
It's a totally great experience and you should totally come.
I came here as an international student to Palm Beach Currumbin State High school for years 11 and 12.
And in high school they offered the marine science and course and they offer a lot of field trips with it.
I have definitely changed a lot since being here in Australia
I have grown a lot.
I have learnt a lot of new stuff.
Being here by yourself is quiet humbling.
You get to know a lot of people from different backgrounds.
You get to learn new skill sets, how to approach them, communicate.
I have learnt, that to be very appreciative of the people I have in the moment and the place where I am
And to be very acceptance of everything that comes happily, yep!
My home stay mum is a teacher.
She knew about all the books we are doing too and she has read them before.
She was also able to recommend how to do essays because I have never done essays before. [Laughs]
She would give me the structure, reread it and give me advice back.
It was very beneficial for me to stay in Queensland because of how it managed Covid 19.
I have been able to continue my studies here in Queensland.
which, I wanted too.
I got into a decree of Bachelor of Science.
And then after (the study) probably I will be stay in Australia.
keep on the Marine Science path or going on to the Neuroscience path.
Samantha's mother - She decided to stay there (Queensland) and I supported her decision to stay in Queensland.
As it was a safe place to be.
I'm very proud of my daughter and all her progress and achievements.
It is a really enriching program and it takes really good care of international students.
You get to meet a lot of people from different backgrounds and you get a lot of opportunities through school.
