Janice from the Netherlands 

Hi I'm Janice and I'm from the Netherlands and I went to High school there and it's called *inaudible*.

In Queensland I'm on the Gold Coast and I go to Merrimac State High School and I'm in year 11 but I'm going to finish year 11 and 12.

My parents decided to go to Queensland because we visit here a lot, sometimes for my summer holidays and we really like it here so we want to see what it's like to live here and my sister really loved High School because it's different here than in the Netherlands.

When I came here they paired me up with a buddy and she showed me around and I became friends with more and more people.

I had a lot of memorable experiences, obviously, meeting my best friend here that was really nice and I've been out with my friends here because I have a lot of Australian friends, instead of international friends.

What I tried that was new here in Australia, or Queensland, was barbecuing at the beach and what I learnt here is that you guys have a piece of bread and a sausage and you make that a hot dog so that was really new that was funny.

So here at school I do aquatics and we're getting our boating licence so being on a boat is also really new for me and driving myself is also really new.

If you really want to learn English it's really nice to come here and I like Merrimac (State High School) because of dancing and aquatics and you can really go on a boat and drive a boat and I really like activities that are really good here.

I don't know what I want to do yet but I would really want to go into animals or children, because I love children.
