The School I'm in is Trinity Bay State High School. I'm in grade 12, and I'm taking media arts, english, math, marine science, rugby and Aboriginal studies. My top reasons for coming to Queensland were for the Great Barrier Reef, the warm weather, the rugby league excellence program like rugby and the rainforest. I personally I was not considering any other countries because like I think Australia is like so cool and I always wanted to come to Australia at some point.

Some of the most enjoyable experiences I've had since I've been here. I've been scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef twice. I have just recently gone to the Daintree, which is one of the oldest rainforests. You've so many people from different places, like Papua New Guinea, like Germany, like so many places around the world. And you just meet new people all the time, like there's so many more athletic opportunities you can have here, like in, like rugby, then back home.

You don't have excellence programs at school because like I play rugby union back home when up in Queensland, they play like league. So it was a change for me. But my coaches back home, like my university coaches, were really like excited for me to have the opportunity to come over here and play a different game because it would get me faster, like hitting harder and all like stuff that could improve my game for back home.

My homestay family is really nice. I enjoy everyone there. I love my host mum. She's so nice because I'm away from my parents all the time. Like she's just so nice. She acts like one of my parents. I would 100 percent recommend it here. It is so lovely. Like, the teachers are so nice. And international coordinators are so nice.

Like, you just meet many people and it's just fun. Some things I would recommend for people who are thinking about coming over to Australia for a, international program are like, just like, give it your all, like, it's always worth a shot. Like you learn so many things. You meet many people like, it's just fun overall.

Like I'd, I'd recommend it. I do plan on coming back to Australia when I'm done university. So after five years I do plan on coming back here and maybe me maybe getting a job and working here for a few years and see how that goes. When I graduated, I either want to become like something in a sports like, like sports psychologist, or like someone like in sports, or like a gym teacher or a firefighter.

Choose Queensland for your educational journey because you meet new people. You have like so many experiences that you want to have back home. Then you can go to the Great Barrier Reef. You can see rainforests and like nature, like things you wouldn’t typically see back home.
